Usage-Based Billing

Billing based on actual consumption or transactions.

Usage-based billing charges customers based on their actual consumption of services or resources – common for cloud services, telecommunications, and utilities, and also used for project billing based on time & material (T&M) and field service scenarios. JustOn realizes it through usage data billing: raw consumption data is collected on custom objects, and the continuous invoice run uses the transaction builder to itemize and bill it.

Two closely related concepts are covered within the configuration articles below rather than in separate pages: usage allocation – assigning usage records to the right subscription via the OrderNo and Criterion fields – and individual usage pricing – account-specific prices and quantities (the Transaction Price and Transaction Quantity fields on usage records).
