Subscription Properties

Core attributes that define a subscription.

Every subscription is characterized by a set of core properties: the customer account it belongs to, its current lifecycle status, the contract duration, how frequently billing occurs, and contractual terms such as cancellation periods.

  • Account – links the subscription to a customer account, from which billing address, payment terms, and other customer-specific settings are inherited. The account is a standard Salesforce lookup on the subscription.
  • Status – indicates whether a subscription is Draft, Active, Inactive, or Canceled, and controls whether it is processed during invoice runs. For the status concept, see Subscriptions; to configure which statuses are processed, see Configuring Active Subscription Status.
  • Cancellation Terms – the contractual notice period that must be given before a subscription can be cancelled, which determines how the end date is calculated. For the subscription concept, see Subscriptions.
  • Contract Period – defines how long a subscription is valid and drives expiry and renewal. For lifecycle behavior, see Subscription Lifecycle.
