Validating VAT Numbers

JustOn supports the VAT number validation service provided by the EU to validate VAT numbers.

You can validate the VAT number for an account if the VAT Validation button is available (see Enabling Individual VAT Number Validation) and the VAT number source field (VATIN or ON_VATNumber) is not empty.

To validate the VAT number of an account:

  1. Navigate to the account for which you want to validate the VAT number.

  2. Click VAT Validation.

    The page shows the VAT number to be checked and the timestamps of the last validation and the last successful validation.

  3. Click Continue.

    This calls the VAT number validation service to validate the VAT number and takes you to the result page. This page shows the validation result. If available, it also displays the name and address linked to the VAT number.

    Be aware of the limitations of the validation service, see Enabling VAT Number Validation.

  4. Click Back to the Account.

    This returns you to the account detail page.
