How to allow custom settings access?
Users may experience issues when accessing custom settings.
By default, Salesforce limits the access to custom settings globally through the org-wide preference Restrict access to custom settings
(in Setup > Schema Settings). Org admins can, however, grant (read) access to all or individual custom settings to their org users using permission sets.
Enabling Access to All Custom Settings
- Click to enter Setup, then open the relevant permission set.
- Click System Permissions > Edit.
- Select the checkbox
View All Custom Settings
. - Click Save.
Enabling Access to Selected Custom Settings
- Click to enter Setup, then open the relevant permission set.
- In the apps section, click Custom Setting Definitions > Edit.
-
Select the required custom setting definitions and add them to the Enabled Custom Setting Definitions column.
Enabling individual custom settings -
Click Save.
