What is a push upgrade?

← Setup and Service FAQ

Salesforce supports push upgrades as a means for automatically upgrading installed packages. Generally, push upgrades can make sure that all customer orgs are on the same or latest version of an app. This minimizes the potential risks of running outdated software versions.

JustOn makes use of push upgrades, too. If your org has recently been upgraded to a current JustOn Billing & Invoice Management release, you can register your org, indicating the org ID, for push upgrades. To do so, submit a JustOn Upgrade request in the JustOn Support Portal.

Subsequently, your org will be upgraded automatically and on a regular basis to the latest stable release of JustOn Billing & Invoice Management. Without you needing to do anything, this guarantees that your org always runs the current JustOn version, which, in turn, ensures a completely supportable system and allows you to use all published new features.

One week before the upgrade, we will send an email announcement giving important information about the next push upgrade. This email may indicate actions that you need to perform before or after the upgrade, and that may be necessary to ensure an error-free installation or to adjust existing features to allow using them with the new functionality.

How often does JustOn push upgrades?

JustOn usually performs an automatic upgrade of JustOn Billing & Invoice Management packages installed in customer orgs following quarterly intervals. The details about the version, changes and any potential actions that are expected to be taken by you, as our subscribers, will be communicated via email.

Please pay attention to the push upgrade notifications. They do not only provide information about recent changes to the software, but may also indicate actions you need to take in order to ensure a smooth transition and continued operation.

Who will receive the push upgrade notification?

We keep an internal database of contacts that are marked as eligible for this type of information. If you are the Salesforce administrator of your organization or need to be informed, but you have not received such a notification, please contact us via the support portal, so that we can add you to our list. If you require multiple contacts for that purpose, we kindly ask you to provide us with their full name, e-mail address and title.

Please pay attention to the push upgrade notifications. They do not only provide information about recent changes to the software, but may also indicate actions you need to take in order to ensure a smooth transition and continued operation.

Which orgs are being updated?

The automatic push upgrade process affects only the production orgs. Should you wish to have sandboxes upgraded, too, submit a corresponding support ticket.
