Membership Fees
← Nonprofit Organization Best Practices
As a nonprofit organization, you promote a particular (social) cause. Doing so, you focus on your objective, not on making money. But you need to bring some income to be able to do your work.
A common way of raising money are donations, as outlined in One-Time Donations, Recurring Donations With Nonprofit Cloud or One-Time and Recurring Donations With Nonprofit Cloud. However, your organization can also raise funds through membership fees.
Solution Outline
See organization memberships as a contractual agreement that is subject to billing on a regular basis. To implement this scenario, you combine the billing and invoicing capabilities of JustOn Billing & Invoice Management and the payment functionality of JustOn Cash Management.
(1) A person applies for a membership via your website or organization portal.
(2) Your website or portal triggers JustOn Billing & Invoice Management to create a subscription record, which holds the billing relevant data.
(3) Based on the subscriptions, JustOn Billing & Invoice Management executes the invoice run to create invoices.
(4) Finalizing the invoices triggers the creation of entry records in JustOn Cash Management.
(5) Based on these entries, your org can either publish the payment page or create direct debit orders.
(6) Then have the new member make the payment via the payment page or send the direct debit orders to your bank – collecting the money yourself.
