How to display the Attach File button in Notes & Attachments?

Assume you want to attach files in the Notes & Attachments section, but you don't see Attach File to do so, only New Note and Upload File. In this case, make sure that files are not set to be uploaded as Salesforce Files.

1. Click to enter Setup, then open the General Settings page for Salesforce Files.

   In Salesforce Lightning, navigate to Feature Settings > Salesforce Files > General Settings.

   In Salesforce Classic, navigate to Build > Customize > Salesforce Files > Settings > General Settings.

   The checkbox Files uploaded to the Attachments related list on records are uploaded as Salesforce Files, not as attachments must not be selected.

2. If the checkbox is selected, click Edit to enable the settings modification.

3. Deselect the checkbox Files uploaded to the Attachments related list on records are uploaded as Salesforce Files, not as attachments.
4. Click Save.
