How to deal with infinitely running batch chains?

← Setup and Service FAQ ← Salesforce Environment FAQ

JustOn Billing & Invoice Management makes extensive use of batch chains, series of several linked complex operations, which are executed sequentially on multiple records at the same time. Clicking Active Jobs in the page footer displays a live status view of running batch chains.

In rare cases, running batch chains may seem to be stuck or frozen for hours – the batch chain progress does not advance, and clicking Clear Messages has no effect.

Seemingly frozen batch chain

Primarily, this indicates a message display issue on Salesforce Platform. The batch chain usually executes and completes successfully, but the message does not refresh – otherwise, JustOn Billing & Invoice Management would produce an error message and display it in any case.

So, how to get rid of this "stuck" message?

  1. Execute the same batch chain again.

New messages can delete the old one.

  2. If another execution of the batch chain does not delete the message, file a ticket in the JustOn Support Portal, asking the message to be deleted.

For details, see How to file a support request with JustOn.
